Oral Hygiene at Home
Build a daily routine
Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste. Clean between teeth regularly using a tool you can use comfortably and consistently.
Adjust for hard-to-reach areas
Braces, bridges, and limited hand movement can make cleaning difficult. Ask a dental professional to demonstrate a suitable technique.
Use a repeatable route
Work through the outer, inner, and chewing surfaces in the same order so you can tell where you have already brushed. Give attention to the gumline and the back teeth. Ask for a demonstration if an appliance or bridge makes a particular surface hard to reach.
Get feedback at the next visit
Ask whether there are areas where plaque tends to collect. Choose a practical change you can maintain and ask how to use the tool that suits that area. If a tool is difficult to handle, describe the problem so the dental team can suggest an adjustment.
